The Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center is located in San Bernardino on nine acres of land. On those nine acres are three rehab units under the management of Captain Valerie Tanguay. This rehabilitation center is the primary facility for housing and treating both male and female inmates incarcerated by the county. In 1960, the male unit was first opened. It housed only 100 inmates and was what you might call a labor camp. Today the male unit can hold more than 1000 inmates which is a far cry from its humble beginnings.
